Is Lake Powell close to Las Vegas?
Close enough for a weekend, not a day trip: 267 miles and 4.5 to 5 hours to Wahweap Marina, or about an hour on the Contour nonstop to Page.

Lake Powell works as a weekend trip from Las Vegas; a day trip is too far. Wahweap Marina is 267 road miles from Las Vegas, a 4.5-to-5-hour drive: I-15 north past St. George to the Hurricane exit, UT-59 and AZ-389 to Fredonia, US-89A into Kanab, then US-89 east to Page. Kanab is the last full-service town, about 75 minutes out, and Big Water has a gas stop closer in. The flying option is Contour Airlines, which started a Las Vegas to Page nonstop 4 days a week in July 2026, about an hour in the air, landing 15 minutes from the marinas. Lake Mead is the reservoir right next to Vegas; Lake Powell is the one with the canyons. The getting-here guide has the full route and the Phoenix and Salt Lake versions.
Facts checked October 2026.
